WHAT HAPPENED?
After losing the Saudi Pro League title to Al-Hilal by a margin of 14 points last season, Al-Nassr were expected to shake things up and go all out to put an end to the Blue Waves' dominance this time, however, at the very start of the 2024-25 campaign, they suffered a thumping 4-1 defeat against the reigning league champions in the final of the Saudi Super Cup.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Per Marca, Al-Nassr are not satisfied with Portuguese manager Luis Castro's performance as they want to compete in every trophy with the intention of winning. Ronaldo, who holds a significant role in the club's sporting structure, has reportedly recommended France legend Zinedine Zidane as he looks to reunite with his former Real Madrid boss in Saudi Arabia.

DID YOU KNOW?
This is not the first time the Frenchman has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia. Last year, after Al-Ittihad parted ways with Nuno Espirito Santo, Karim Benzema's side reportedly tried to bring in the 52-year-old, however, a move never materialised.
